Ultra Plus : Contains lidocaine for improved comfort and is also used for dramatic lip augmentation. It is also used in the nasolabial folds. Slightly thicker than Ultra, it has a few more uses and sometimes is used in the cheeks or chin. It is versatile and great for volume loss and facial wrinkles. Juvederm Ultra Plus also lasts around six months, though can last longer in some places and individuals.

Voluma : Among the longest lasting hyaluronic acid option, Voluma is typically used in the chin or cheeks. It can last up to two years. Out of all hyaluronic acid fillers, it is often considered the one that lasts the longest.

Description :

Juvederm Bellevue & Kirkland

Dermal filler injections are among the most popular cosmetic procedures in the United States with over a million injections performed every year. Within the dermal filler category, hyaluronic acid fillers are by far the most popular due to their good safety profile and versatility. Two filler manufacturers offer hyaluronic acid fillers–Restylane and Juvederm. Both are about equal in usage and most providers offer both. Northwest Face & Body offers the best Juvederm Bellevue and Kirkland provides.

The Lowdown On Juvederm

Juvederm is a type of cosmetic injectable known as a dermal filler. It is injected for two main purposes: to fill hollows and wrinkles or to augment areas of the face. Primarily used on the face, dermal fillers like Juvederm are among the top non-surgical procedures for anti-aging. With millions of filler injections performed every year, it is an extremely popular and versatile tool for looking younger and achieving your ideal facial aesthetic.

Within facial fillers, some subcategories refer to what the filler is made out of. Juvederm belongs to the largest and most used classification: hyaluronic acid fillers. This means that Juvederm is lower risk than semi-permanent fillers and can treat more places such as the lips.

The master injectors at Northwest Face & Body are masters at using Juvederm to artfully augment and fill in facial features. Northwest Face & Body provides the best Juvederm Bellevue and Kirkland offers.

The Lowdown On Juvederm

Juvederm has many applications across the face. Some of the areas Juvederm can treat include:

Patients can usually treat multiple areas at once. Juvederm also pairs well with neurotoxin treatment such as BOTOX or Dysport. Your master injector will discuss which areas you are a candidate for treatment and the best Juvederm filler for each area.

Advantages Of Hyaluronic Acid Based Fillers

Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the body, the largest concentrations of which are in the eyes and joints. Therefore, while rejection or allergy to the filler is possible, it is highly unlikely. Another major benefit of hyaluronic acid filler is that they have a natural reversal agent, hyaluronidase.

When injected, it breaks up the filler. If you experience major side effects or complications or end up unhappy with your new look, there is an easy antidote. This also increases the safety of hyaluronic acid fillers when compared with other types of fillers. If occlusion (the injection of filler into a blood vessel) or an adverse event occurs, it can be immediately addressed in the office.

While it may not seem like an advantage at first, the temporary nature of hyaluronic acid fillers allows patients to stop treatments whenever they want, try out various filler options, and try out different looks each time. This experimentation allows patients to find the exactly right filler option and technique for them.

Types Of Juvederm Filler

Juvederm makes a few different fillers that each have a slightly varied consistency and tend to be used in different areas. The main Juvederm offerings are Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, and Juvederm Voluma. Your master injector can discuss each option with you in detail and help determine which is best for the area you are treating and your goals.

  • Ultra: Normally used as a lip filler, Juvederm Ultra can also treat the nasolabial folds. Typically, Ultra is considered among the thinnest of Juvederm's fillers. It lasts on average around three to six months.
  • Ultra Plus: Contains lidocaine for improved comfort and is also used for dramatic lip augmentation.
  • Voluma: Among the longest lasting hyaluronic acid option, Voluma is typically used in the chin or cheeks. It can last up to two years. Out of all hyaluronic acid fillers, it is often considered the one that lasts the longest.

Before & After Juvederm Injections In Bellevue

Consultation

The first step for undergoing Juvederm filler injections in Bellevue is to attend a consultation with a master injector. At this appointment, your master injector will ask you about your goals, medical history, history with fillers, and lifestyle. They may also briefly examine the area to evaluate the skin quality, thickness, and other factors that influence the filler choice and process.

If they believe you are a good candidate for your chosen procedure, they will discuss the many fillers you have to choose from. In some cases, you may undergo filler injections the same day. Otherwise, you can schedule your appointment at your convenience or before leaving the office.

Injection Process

First, your master injector will prep the injection sites. This involves disinfecting the areas with alcohol and cleansing them of any makeup or environmental debris. After this, they will likely apply topical numbing cream. This will sit for around ten to twenty minutes. During this time, your injector will prepare the Juvederm.

Your master injector will then begin the filler injections. Depending on the treatment, they may use a needle or cannula. If using a needle, they will start injections immediately. With a cannula, they will make a small entry point for the cannula using a small needle. After inserting the needle or cannula they will slowly inject the filler. They may move the needle within the injection point or inject at multiple sites to add volume evenly for the ideal results.

For most areas, the injections themselves do not take longer than about ten to fifteen minutes. You can have multiple areas treated at the same time. Along with the topical numbing cream, the Juvederm contains a small amount of lidocaine to help ease the filler as it is injected.

Aftercare

In the days following the injections, you may notice some common side effects such as:

  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Redness
  • Discomfort
  • Itchiness
  • Lumps

For the most part, these side effects should clear up in a week or two. For a day or two following Juvederm injections, your master injector may recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, alcohol, and certain blood-thinning medications and supplements.

Your filler will continue to settle for about two weeks. If you still notice lumps, unevenness, or the result does not fit your goals after two weeks, our master injectors can perform a quick touch up.

Lash & Brow Services Bellevue & Kirkland

The eyelashes and eyebrows have dominated beauty trends throughout the last decade. Thick brows and long eyelashes are a standard that most people seek out. While makeup can help people achieve these goals, semi-permanent options do exist. Northwest Face & Body now offers professional lash and brow services at their Kirkland location. With a medically focused environment and performed by master estheticians, Northwest Face & Body provides the best lash and brow services Bellevue and Kirkland have.

Understanding Lash & Brow Services

The main goal of most lash and brow services is to create a long lasting makeup look. This reduces makeup application time and keeps clients looking their best night and day. They no longer have to worry about smeared mascara or appearing sleepy when they are running late.

Lash and brow enhancements are becoming among the most popular esthetic treatments, especially among women. These non-invasive, non-painful treatments shave time off their morning routines and often they find them relaxing. Whether they want the subtle, natural results of a lash lift or the dramatic look of lash extensions, the master estheticians at Northwest Face & Body can help out clients and patients achieve their cosmetic goals.

Benefits & Risks

Like most esthetic procedures, lash and brow services do come with some benefits and risks. Your master esthetician will discuss these thoroughly with you before completing your service. It is important to fully understand the procedure, benefits, and risks before opting for it.

Some of the benefits you may enjoy include:

As far as risks go, as stated earlier, there are few risks. Especially when you choose a specialized and experienced provider, there is little chance of any complication. Though, it is still important to understand the possible risks.

Some of the rare risks include:

A Medical Environment vs. Salon Environment

At Northwest Face & Body, our facility is a Medicare accredited plastic surgery practice and medical spa. Lash and brow services are often performed in a salon environment. While these places are often clean and completely safe for such treatments, our environment holds up to medical standards of sterility and safety.

In addition, there are medical professionals on-site and our master estheticians have undergone medical training. This allows us to perform esthetic services in an environment designed to provide the highest and safest level of care.

Types Of Lash & Brow Services At Northwest Face & Body

Northwest Face & Body offers basic lash and brow services to Bellevue, Kirkland, and surrounding areas. We plan to continue expanding our esthetic services to meet everyone’s personal needs and goals.

Brow Wax

Our master estheticians offer waxing around the body, including the eyebrows. Along with a basic eyebrow wax, they will perform brow mapping to identify your natural and ideal brow shape. They will then wax the brows to fit this shape. If you have a specific shape in mind, our master estheticians can likely accommodate this.

Brow Tint

Frequently performed with a brow wax, a brow tint subtly dyes the brows a darker shade. Normally only one to two shades darker than your normal hair color, this accentuates the shape and presence of the brows. This enhancement is similar to how brow makeup would create prominent brows.

Unlike makeup, this will not fade away throughout the day. A brow tint tends to last between four and eight weeks. The longevity depends on your body’s hair growth cycle, environmental factors, and quality of aftercare.

Lash Lift & Tint

A lash lift with tint is comparable to perming and dyeing your hair. The lash lift portion involves lifting the lashes onto a silicone pad to curl them as a lash curl would. Instead of clamping down, your master esthetician will apply lifting lotion. This will keep the lashes in a curled position for about four to six weeks. Usually, a C or J-curl can be achieved with a lash lift.

A lash tint–like a brow tint–dyes the lashes a darker color. With a lash tint, the most common tint is black to mimic the look of mascara. In people who have lighter colored lashes, this can create a dramatic effect.

Lash Extensions

Eyelash extensions consist of gluing false lashes to your natural lashes. Unlike strip lashes which can be applied at home, lash extensions are applied one lash at a time. This allows you and your provider more control over the final results. Lash extensions can range from natural looking to dramatic. They can also make the shape of the eye look different.

At Northwest Face & Body, our master estheticians specialize in classic eyelash extensions which is one of the most natural looking options. However, depending on your starting lashes and goals, it is possible to achieve a more dramatic result. Sometimes this can be achieved by performing a lash lift and tint first.

Lash Extension Removal

Removing eyelash extensions–if doing so before they fall off naturally–is best performed by a professional. They can remove the lashes carefully and without damaging the natural lashes. Occasionally, people will come in with lashes much too heavy for their natural lashes to bear. This requires removal to preserve the natural lashes.

Our master estheticians can remove your lash extensions and apply new ones if desired. This includes whether we applied the lashes or not.

Microblading

Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattoo that enhances the shape and fullness of the eyebrows. Unlike a traditional tattoo, it is semi-permanent, lasting on average two to three years. Our microblading artists offer three forms of microblading at Northwest Face & Body: traditional microblading, powder brows, and combo brows.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do You Use Hard Or Soft Wax For The Eyebrows?

Waxing can utilize either hard or soft wax. Soft wax uses a strip or some other means to remove the wax. Hard wax hardens and can be pulled off by hand. At Northwest Face & Body, your master esthetician will choose the wax which best suits your needs for that appointment. They will take into account the amount of hair that needs to be removed, skin type, and the desired shape.

Both hard and soft wax is used for the eyebrows. Though, many are likely more familiar with a soft wax for the eyebrows because it is gentle, warm, and soothing. Your master esthetician will discuss the advantages of both and advise the right wax option for you.

Does Brow Tint Stain The Skin?

No, a brow tint does not stain the skin. A brow tint only stains the brow hairs. With that said, sometimes a brow tint may temporarily stain the skin. However, this is typically removed during the treatment or fades within a few days.

Henna brows is a similar procedure that does stain the skin beneath the brows. While we do not perform the procedure at Northwest Face & Body, it is an option for those interested in brow tinting.

How Old Do You Have To Be To Get A Lash Lift?

Our office only provides lash and brow services to those 18 or over. While we do occasionally see patients under 18, this is on a case-by-case basis. It depends on the procedure, the age of the patient, and several other factors.

Does A Lash Tint Work For Dark Lashes?

Yes, while a lash lift is most dramatic on people with lighter colored lashes, it can also provide results for those with dark lashes. The only exception is potentially on those with pure black lashes. However, a lash tint can help enhance and bring out the vibrancy of the pigment.

Our master estheticians have a variety of tint shades based on natural hair color. During your appointment, they will help you pick out the tint best suited for you.

Is It Safe To Remove Eyelash Extensions At Home?

Unless your extensions naturally fall off, it is not advisable to remove your eyelash extensions. If you want to remove your eyelash extensions, schedule an appointment with a master esthetician or certified lash technician. They can safely remove them.

Removing them yourself comes with a higher risk of damaging or pulling out your natural lashes. Even if you remove them with tweezers in a mirror, the visibility you have is still limited compared to your provider. A master esthetician also knows the proper techniques and has tools specifically designed for removing lash extensions.

What Are The Prices For The Lash & Brow Services At Northwest Face & Body?
