Slightly thicker than Ultra, it has a few more uses and sometimes is used in the cheeks or chin. It is versatile and great for volume loss and facial wrinkles. Juvederm Ultra Plus also lasts around six months, though can last longer in some places and individuals.

Juvederm Bellevue & Kirkland

Dermal filler injections are among the most popular cosmetic procedures in the United States with over a million injections performed every year. Within the dermal filler category, hyaluronic acid fillers are by far the most popular due to their good safety profile and versatility. Two filler manufacturers offer hyaluronic acid fillers–Restylane and Juvederm. Both are about equal in usage and most providers offer both. Northwest Face & Body offers the best Juvederm Bellevue and Kirkland provides.

The Lowdown On Juvederm

Juvederm is a type of cosmetic injectable known as a dermal filler. It is injected for two main purposes: to fill hollows and wrinkles or to augment areas of the face. Primarily used on the face, dermal fillers like Juvederm are among the top non-surgical procedures for anti-aging. With millions of filler injections performed every year, it is an extremely popular and versatile tool for looking younger and achieving your ideal facial aesthetic.

Within facial fillers, some subcategories refer to what the filler is made out of. Juvederm belongs to the largest and most used classification: hyaluronic acid fillers. This means that Juvederm is lower risk than semi-permanent fillers and can treat more places such as the lips.

The master injectors at Northwest Face & Body are masters at using Juvederm to artfully augment and fill in facial features. Northwest Face & Body provides the best Juvederm Bellevue and Kirkland offers.

The Lowdown On Juvederm

Juvederm has many applications across the face. Some of the areas Juvederm can treat include:

Patients can usually treat multiple areas at once. Juvederm also pairs well with neurotoxin treatment such as BOTOX or Dysport. Your master injector will discuss which areas you are a candidate for treatment and the best Juvederm filler for each area.

Advantages Of Hyaluronic Acid Based Fillers

Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the body, the largest concentrations of which are in the eyes and joints. Therefore, while rejection or allergy to the filler is possible, it is highly unlikely. Another major benefit of hyaluronic acid filler is that they have a natural reversal agent, hyaluronidase.

When injected, it breaks up the filler. If you experience major side effects or complications or end up unhappy with your new look, there is an easy antidote. This also increases the safety of hyaluronic acid fillers when compared with other types of fillers. If occlusion (the injection of filler into a blood vessel) or an adverse event occurs, it can be immediately addressed in the office.

While it may not seem like an advantage at first, the temporary nature of hyaluronic acid fillers allows patients to stop treatments whenever they want, try out various filler options, and try out different looks each time. This experimentation allows patients to find the exactly right filler option and technique for them.

Types Of Juvederm Filler

Juvederm makes a few different fillers that each have a slightly varied consistency and tend to be used in different areas. The main Juvederm offerings are Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, and Juvederm Voluma. Your master injector can discuss each option with you in detail and help determine which is best for the area you are treating and your goals.

  • Ultra: Normally used as a lip filler, Juvederm Ultra can also treat the nasolabial folds. Typically, Ultra is considered among the thinnest of Juvederm's fillers. It lasts on average around three to six months.
  • Ultra Plus: Contains lidocaine for improved comfort and is also used for dramatic lip augmentation. It is also used in the nasolabial folds. Slightly thicker than Ultra, it has a few more uses and sometimes is used in the cheeks or chin. It is versatile and great for volume loss and facial wrinkles. Juvederm Ultra Plus also lasts around six months, though can last longer in some places and individuals.
  • Voluma: Among the longest lasting hyaluronic acid option, Voluma is typically used in the chin or cheeks. It can last up to two years. Out of all hyaluronic acid fillers, it is often considered the one that lasts the longest.

Before & After Juvederm Injections In Bellevue

Consultation

The first step for undergoing Juvederm filler injections in Bellevue is to attend a consultation with a master injector. At this appointment, your master injector will ask you about your goals, medical history, history with fillers, and lifestyle. They may also briefly examine the area to evaluate the skin quality, thickness, and other factors that influence the filler choice and process.

If they believe you are a good candidate for your chosen procedure, they will discuss the many fillers you have to choose from. In some cases, you may undergo filler injections the same day. Otherwise, you can schedule your appointment at your convenience or before leaving the office.

Injection Process

First, your master injector will prep the injection sites. This involves disinfecting the areas with alcohol and cleansing them of any makeup or environmental debris. After this, they will likely apply topical numbing cream. This will sit for around ten to twenty minutes. During this time, your injector will prepare the Juvederm.

Your master injector will then begin the filler injections. Depending on the treatment, they may use a needle or cannula. If using a needle, they will start injections immediately. With a cannula, they will make a small entry point for the cannula using a small needle. After inserting the needle or cannula they will slowly inject the filler. They may move the needle within the injection point or inject at multiple sites to add volume evenly for the ideal results.

For most areas, the injections themselves do not take longer than about ten to fifteen minutes. You can have multiple areas treated at the same time. Along with the topical numbing cream, the Juvederm contains a small amount of lidocaine to help ease the filler as it is injected.

Aftercare

In the days following the injections, you may notice some common side effects such as:

  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Redness
  • Discomfort
  • Itchiness
  • Lumps

For the most part, these side effects should clear up in a week or two. For a day or two following Juvederm injections, your master injector may recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, alcohol, and certain blood-thinning medications and supplements.

Your filler will continue to settle for about two weeks. If you still notice lumps, unevenness, or the result does not fit your goals after two weeks, our master injectors can perform a quick touch up.

Mini Facelift

A facelift is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures in the United States. In an independently conducted study that surveyed facelift patients from around the US, 95% were satisfied with their results and believed that the procedure was worth it. A modification of the full facelift–a mini facelift–can provide more youthful looking results while reducing scarring and recovery times. Northwest Face & Body are the leaders of the mini facelift and are happy to offer the procedure to the Kirkland and Greater Seattle area.

How Is a Mini Facelift Different From a Facelift?

A full facelift addresses the lower face, neck, and can provide some corrections to the midface. Although, a midface lift is the best way to address the cheeks and midface. While a facelift can vary depending upon individual needs, a facelift typically aims to tighten the skin and tissues of the face for a tighter and more youthful underlying structure. Mini facelifts are a modification of this procedure that targets the lower face specifically, usually the jowls and neck.

Kirkland mini facelifts typically suit younger candidates who do not need as much of a lift, or those who experienced the majority of aging in the lower part of the face. When a Kirkland plastic surgeon performs your mini facelift, you can expect a less invasive procedure, smaller incision, and a shorter recovery time on average.

While the procedure is referred to as “mini” this does not mean you will have to compromise your results. A mini facelift can help correct many lower facial concerns. Other cosmetic procedures–both surgical and non-surgical–can be performed along with the surgery to provide maximum facial rejuvenation.

Concerns A Mini Facelift May Address:

Mini facelift candidates usually have a variety of concerns they hope to address with their procedure. Among some of the common cosmetic issues that your mini facelift may be able to correct include:

A traditional facelift can certainly correct these issues, in addition to extending to the midface. However, not everyone needs correction above the lower face or wants such an extensive procedure. This is where a mini facelift can provide meaningful results with minimal scarring and downtime.

The Kirkland Mini Facelift Technique

Every mini facelift in Kirkland is unique and customized to the patient because we aim to perform only facelifts that will provide individualized results. In general, the mini facelift includes a small incision. Normally, this incision is just behind or in front of the ear. You and Dr. Allegra will discuss which incision location will best serve your needs.

On the day of your surgery, Dr. Allegra will make the agreed upon incision and remove excess skin and fat. After removing the necessary skin and fat, he will reposition the skin and sometimes underlying tissues to provide a younger looking appearance, while avoiding unnatural results or making it look like you had a facelift.

Dr. Allegra will then close your incision discreetly to ensure that they are sufficiently hidden. He may provide a head wrap or other similar garment to wear over the coming days to promote a healthy and successful recovery.

Patients usually have little need for pain medication after their mini facelift in Kirkland. Dr. Allegra may prescribe medications to prevent infection and manage pain, if necessary. Over-the-counter painkillers may also be used as long as you use them under Dr. Allegra’s supervision.

Your Results

Mini facelift results will take some time to become visible. As your swelling goes down and your facial tissues and skin settle into their new positions, you should begin to see your final results in the coming weeks. You should look about ten younger. While you will continue to age, you should look younger after a mini facelift. Though it does not provide the same results as a deep plane facelift or similar SMAS technique facelift.

As far as maintaining your results, the best thing you can do is continue a healthy lifestyle. Managing your weight and health will help ensure your mini facelift results last long after your procedure. Also, those with good skin quality typically see better and longer lasting results. Taking care of your skin and keeping up with a daily skincare routine can help keep your face looking young and promote the general health of your skin

Ideal Candidates

The ideal candidates for a Kirkland mini facelift are in good health, non-smokers, and possess signs of aging that warrant surgical intervention. During a consultation, Dr. Allegra can help you determine whether a mini facelift (or another type of facelift) will best serve your needs and goals.

Your health is the most important factor that determines whether you are right for a mini facelift. If you or your body will not withstand a surgical procedure, or you have medical conditions like bleeding or blood disorders, cancer, or another major medical illness, a mini facelift could cause more harm than good. After discussing your entire medical history with Dr. Allegra, he can better understand how your health and the procedure will interact.

Only Dr. Allegra can determine if you are a candidate for a Kirkland mini facelift. Most people who possess good health and a healthy lifestyle are compatible with the procedure, but Dr. Allegra will need to assess your needs, anatomy, and health during a consultation at Northwest Face & Body.

Recovery After a Mini Facelift in Kirkland

Every patient’s postoperative instructions will vary because the mini facelift procedure is catered especially to an individual’s needs. Dr. Allegra does give some general instructions after his mini facelift procedures that fit nearly every mini facelift in Kirkland.

Firstly, he will ask you to refrain from exercise for at least two weeks. This includes typical strenuous exercises and also head movements should be kept minimal. Too much movement or exercise can increase the bruising which slows down your recovery and healing. Following Dr. Allegra’s custom instructions which may include elevating your head for a period of time will help you heal as quickly as possible.

Secondly, Dr. Allegra may give you instructions on how to keep your incisions clean. This could include the use of topical antiseptics or easily accessible, over-the-counter ointments. Additionally, he may prescribe antibiotics to prevent infection. These protocols will help reduce infections and limit uncomfortable side effects after mini facelift surgery.

Finally, you can expect some minor side effects like bruising, swelling, redness, and general tightness or pain in the surgical area. These side effects normally subside within a week or so, and often you can go out without makeup in as little as one week after surgery. Many patients find that they can be fairly active at home by the second day of recovery. Returning to work and exercise will be determined on a case-by-case basis by Dr. Allegra.
