Description :

Juvederm Bellevue & Kirkland

Dermal filler injections are among the most popular cosmetic procedures in the United States with over a million injections performed every year. Within the dermal filler category, hyaluronic acid fillers are by far the most popular due to their good safety profile and versatility. Two filler manufacturers offer hyaluronic acid fillers–Restylane and Juvederm. Both are about equal in usage and most providers offer both. Northwest Face & Body offers the best Juvederm Bellevue and Kirkland provides.

The Lowdown On Juvederm

Juvederm is a type of cosmetic injectable known as a dermal filler. It is injected for two main purposes: to fill hollows and wrinkles or to augment areas of the face. Primarily used on the face, dermal fillers like Juvederm are among the top non-surgical procedures for anti-aging. With millions of filler injections performed every year, it is an extremely popular and versatile tool for looking younger and achieving your ideal facial aesthetic.

Within facial fillers, some subcategories refer to what the filler is made out of. Juvederm belongs to the largest and most used classification: hyaluronic acid fillers. This means that Juvederm is lower risk than semi-permanent fillers and can treat more places such as the lips.

The master injectors at Northwest Face & Body are masters at using Juvederm to artfully augment and fill in facial features. Northwest Face & Body provides the best Juvederm Bellevue and Kirkland offers.

The Lowdown On Juvederm

Juvederm has many applications across the face. Some of the areas Juvederm can treat include:

Patients can usually treat multiple areas at once. Juvederm also pairs well with neurotoxin treatment such as BOTOX or Dysport. Your master injector will discuss which areas you are a candidate for treatment and the best Juvederm filler for each area.

Advantages Of Hyaluronic Acid Based Fillers

Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the body, the largest concentrations of which are in the eyes and joints. Therefore, while rejection or allergy to the filler is possible, it is highly unlikely. Another major benefit of hyaluronic acid filler is that they have a natural reversal agent, hyaluronidase.

When injected, it breaks up the filler. If you experience major side effects or complications or end up unhappy with your new look, there is an easy antidote. This also increases the safety of hyaluronic acid fillers when compared with other types of fillers. If occlusion (the injection of filler into a blood vessel) or an adverse event occurs, it can be immediately addressed in the office.

While it may not seem like an advantage at first, the temporary nature of hyaluronic acid fillers allows patients to stop treatments whenever they want, try out various filler options, and try out different looks each time. This experimentation allows patients to find the exactly right filler option and technique for them.

Types Of Juvederm Filler

Juvederm makes a few different fillers that each have a slightly varied consistency and tend to be used in different areas. The main Juvederm offerings are Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, and Juvederm Voluma. Your master injector can discuss each option with you in detail and help determine which is best for the area you are treating and your goals.

  • Ultra: Normally used as a lip filler, Juvederm Ultra can also treat the nasolabial folds. Typically, Ultra is considered among the thinnest of Juvederm's fillers. It lasts on average around three to six months.
  • Ultra Plus: Contains lidocaine for improved comfort and is also used for dramatic lip augmentation. It is also used in the nasolabial folds. Slightly thicker than Ultra, it has a few more uses and sometimes is used in the cheeks or chin. It is versatile and great for volume loss and facial wrinkles. Juvederm Ultra Plus also lasts around six months, though can last longer in some places and individuals.
  • Voluma: Among the longest lasting hyaluronic acid option, Voluma is typically used in the chin or cheeks. It can last up to two years. Out of all hyaluronic acid fillers, it is often considered the one that lasts the longest.

Before & After Juvederm Injections In Bellevue

Consultation

The first step for undergoing Juvederm filler injections in Bellevue is to attend a consultation with a master injector. At this appointment, your master injector will ask you about your goals, medical history, history with fillers, and lifestyle. They may also briefly examine the area to evaluate the skin quality, thickness, and other factors that influence the filler choice and process.

If they believe you are a good candidate for your chosen procedure, they will discuss the many fillers you have to choose from. In some cases, you may undergo filler injections the same day. Otherwise, you can schedule your appointment at your convenience or before leaving the office.

Injection Process

First, your master injector will prep the injection sites. This involves disinfecting the areas with alcohol and cleansing them of any makeup or environmental debris. After this, they will likely apply topical numbing cream. This will sit for around ten to twenty minutes. During this time, your injector will prepare the Juvederm.

Your master injector will then begin the filler injections. Depending on the treatment, they may use a needle or cannula. If using a needle, they will start injections immediately. With a cannula, they will make a small entry point for the cannula using a small needle. After inserting the needle or cannula they will slowly inject the filler. They may move the needle within the injection point or inject at multiple sites to add volume evenly for the ideal results.

For most areas, the injections themselves do not take longer than about ten to fifteen minutes. You can have multiple areas treated at the same time. Along with the topical numbing cream, the Juvederm contains a small amount of lidocaine to help ease the filler as it is injected.

Aftercare

In the days following the injections, you may notice some common side effects such as:

  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Redness
  • Discomfort
  • Itchiness
  • Lumps

For the most part, these side effects should clear up in a week or two. For a day or two following Juvederm injections, your master injector may recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, alcohol, and certain blood-thinning medications and supplements.

Your filler will continue to settle for about two weeks. If you still notice lumps, unevenness, or the result does not fit your goals after two weeks, our master injectors can perform a quick touch up.

Tear Trough Filler

Dark under eyes and bags are among some of the biggest complaints patients have about their facial appearance. Various surgical and non-surgical procedures may improve the appearance of hollow or dark under eyes. Patients often try various creams and skincare to treat their concerns. When it comes to popular cosmetic procedures to treat the under eyes, fillers are one of the most effective. Called under eye fillers or tear trough fillers, this dermal filler procedure can treat the tired, dark look of the under eyes. Northwest Face & Body provides the best tear trough fillers Bellevue and Kirkland offers.

What Is Tear Trough Filler?

Tear trough fillers are a dermal filler procedure that injects hyaluronic acid fillers under the eyes. This can treat a variety of concerns with the area and improve overall facial appearance. The exact type of filler, technique, and amount used will depend on your anatomy and treatment.

As far as other procedures that can improve the appearance of the under eyes including facial fat transfer and even facelifts. Occasionally, cheek fillers can enhance the tear troughs. You can discuss the exact treatment that will benefit you during a consultation with Dr. Ludwig Allegra or a qualified injector.

Causes Of Hollow Under Eyes

Dark, hollow under eyes have many causes. The most common of these include genetics which can make a patient predisposed to dark under eyes. Otherwise, various medical conditions and aging cause volume loss over time. Among the causes of dark and hollow tear troughs include:

The look of hollow or darkened under eyes does not inherently indicate a health problem or pose any risks. However, depending on the causes, the appearance may resolve if certain conditions are properly treated. If the appearance is chronic, under eye fillers can address this.

Benefits

Tear trough filler carries many unique advantages to patients with dark under eyes. Additionally, as a non-surgical procedure, many patients find the benefits of under eye fillers largely outweigh those of more invasive treatment options. The benefits and advantages of under eye fillers include:

Types Of Under Eye Fillers

There are many options for your under eye filler in Bellevue. Firstly, hyaluronic acid fillers are the best and safest option for under the eyes. The tear troughs are a notably sensitive area that requires an experienced and skilled injector. Additionally, more permanent fillers should not be used in the periorbital area. They are more likely to cause lumps and complications in the under eyes.

Generally, Restylane and Juvederm fillers are the primary hyaluronic acid options. Restylane L is the most common filler used under the eyes. This is because it is a thin, malleable filler that can provide natural looking results. It is possible to use thicker fillers in the under eye area. However, they do not provide the same consistency in results as Restylane L. Though, this will vary depending on your anatomy and goals.

Restylane vs. Juvederm

Patients coming in for dermal fillers often ask about the difference between Restylane and Juvederm. Both are manufacturers of hyaluronic acid gel fillers used for a variety of procedures including lip filler, cheek filler, and non-surgical rhinoplasty. The two manufacturers have slightly different formulas and goals for their fillers. However, both Restylane and Juvederm fillers are used in many of the same procedures.

Some patients may prefer one filler over the other based on the results they get and how long the fillers last for them. This will vary widely across patients. As far as which filler is right for your eye filler treatment, this is best discussed during a consultation.

Before And After Under Eye Filler Injections

Consultation

Before your injectors perform tear trough filler, you will need to come to Northwest Face & Body for a consultation. During a consultation, your injector will want to know about the look you want to achieve. They will also discuss your medical history and lifestyle. Finally, your injector may physically examine the area. At this point, they will determine if you are a good candidate for under eye filler in Bellevue.

If you are a viable candidate, you can usually undergo the injections at the same time. Your injector will discuss the various filler options with you. They can then recommend which they think will best suit you and your goals.

Under Eye Filler Injections

To begin your tear trough injections, your injector will clean the area with an alcohol wipe. This clears away any debris and prevents infection. Based on your preference and your injections, your injector may apply a topical numbing gel. After you are numb and the filler prepared, your injector will proceed with injections.

Using either a needle or thin cannula, your injector will precisely inject the filler into the under eye area. Depending on your anatomy, they may make multiple injections across the area. Typically, tear trough injections use at least one to two syringes of filler.

The procedure usually takes around ten to thirty minutes. If it is your first under eye injection at Northwest Face & Body, you should plan for the consultation and injections to take around forty five minutes to an hour.

Tear Trough Filler Aftercare

Following under eye filler, you should avoid strenuous exercise and sun exposure for at least twenty four hours. This can promote possible swelling and bruising. Otherwise, patients are free to return to work and all their normal activities immediately.

Some patients may experience minor side effects like swelling, bruising, itchiness, and discoloration at the injection sites. This should go away within one to two weeks. Major risks or complications of tear trough filler are relatively rare. Usually, they are easily treated with in-office remedies or hyaluronidase.

Your injector may also provide some instructions for the days and weeks following your injections. They will likely advise you not to massage the area and avoid applying eye makeup for a few hours or days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can You Use Sculptra Under The Eyes?

No, Sculptra is not recommended or approved for use under the eyes. This is largely because the skin in the under eyes is among the thinnest on the face. Due to this, Sculptra is more likely to form bumps or nodules under the skin. Normally, with a hyaluronic acid filler, these could be disguised or dissolved. This is not as easy with Sculptra.

Additionally, Sculptra is not easily reversible. Under the eyes is a sensitive area for filler and fillers must be dissolved in the rare event of a complication.

What Is The Tyndall Effect?

The Tyndall effect with under eye filler is where the filler was placed too superficially and appears slightly blue or silver. It may also look bumpy. As previously mentioned, the skin under the eyes is some of the thinnest on the face. Therefore, an experienced injector is vital. Luckily, the Tyndall effect is easily treated by dissolving the filler and reapplication.

How Often To Get Tear Trough Filler?

The amount of time between tear trough filler treatments will vary from patient to patient. On average, under eye filler lasts between six months and one year. Many factors impact how long filler lasts including if you smoke, how much you exercise, and biological components.

Does Under Eye Filler Bruise?

It can. Although, not all patients experience bruising following under eye filler injections. If you do, it should subside within one to two weeks. It is often okay to hide it using a concealer, though you should consult with your injector before applying it.

You can prevent bruising by avoiding exercise post-treatment. You should also not use any painkillers containing ibuprofen or aspirin a few days before and after your injections. They can prolong or worsen swelling and bruising.

Is It Painful?

Tear trough injections are not overly painful. Your injector may apply a topical anesthetic before treatment to keep you comfortable during the injections. Patients usually remain perfectly comfortable during filler treatments at Northwest Face & Body.

How Much Is Under Eye Filler?

The cost of under eye filler depends on the number of injections, the provider you choose, and other factors of treatment. To obtain an understanding of the starting price of under eye fillers, visit our price list and Price Simulator™.
